In ADS AGAINST NICOTINE, have students imagine they are part of a national media campaign aimed at creating awareness of the risks involved in teen nicotine use. Have students work in small groups to create print or video ads that encourage teens to avoid nicotine. Encourage your class to use a variety of persuasive techniques, such as facts, statistics, and appeals to emotion, to create their ads. At the end, consider holding a vote for the most creative and/or convincing ad.
