Life Hacks: Be a Hometown Tourist
THE PROBLEM
It’s spring break. You’re excited to be off from school but bummed you don’t have a fun trip planned. Stuck at home, you wonder: “What is there to do around here?”
THE HACK
Change your mindset: Think about your hometown as if you were a curious tourist. Then make a plan for what to explore. Here are some ideas:
DIG INTO HISTORY.
Head to the local library to learn about your area’s past. Then create your own walking tour of historical sites.
LOSE YOURSELF IN NATURE.
Hike through a park you’ve never visited. Use your senses to appreciate the trees, birds, and other wildlife.
DISCOVER LOCAL CULTURE.
Check out a festival, concert, art gallery, or museum. Visit a restaurant serving foods you’ve never tried.
