Feel the Love
This Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to take a minute to express love to one of the most important people in your life—you! Studies have shown that self-affirmations (aka, saying positive things to yourself) can help reduce stress, increase well-being, and improve academic performance. It may feel awkward at first, but keep at it, and soon you’ll get in the habit of recognizing how great you really are. Here’s how to start.
Choose what.
Select an affirmation from the suggestions below or come up with your own.
Choose when.
Set a time to practice your affirmation, like first thing when you wake up or right before bed (or both!).
Choose how.
Will you say your affirmation out loud? Write it? Text it to yourself? Do what works for you.
