Dear Frustrated,
We feel you. Most people struggle to keep New Year’s resolutions. The key is to pick goals that are meaningful, specific, and that you can imagine yourself keeping. To make sure you follow through on your plans for the new year, try these tips.

1. Choose Wisely
Make it personal. Pick something you really care about. Your resolution should have a positive and noticeable effect on your life.
2. Get Detailed
Be as specific as possible. Instead of resolving to exercise more, make a plan to go for a 30-minute walk in the park four days a week.
3. Visualize Success
For example, if you want to learn to play the guitar, make a habit of imagining yourself playing your favorite song. And don’t forget to practice!
