EXPANDING SEL OPPORTUNITIES

Continue the learning journey with the following extension activity:

In A.I.—OK OR NOT?, have students use the skills sheet to read three scenarios and select “Yes” or “No” to decide whether it is acceptable to use A.I. in each situation. In the space after each scenario, they should provide a brief explanation for their thinking. Once students have finished, hold a debate about each scenario. You can do this in a traditional whole-class debate format, or use an online discussion tool to collect student answers and have students respond to one another’s posts. Once the discussion is finished, have students reflect on what they learned and decide if their position in the debate has changed at all.
